Albert from Šternberka

Albert of Šternberk was one of the most powerful clergymen in Central Europe in his time.

He owed his rise to both his abilities and the favor of Charles IV. His career was exceptionally fast-paced – he was a member of the Olomouc chapter, bishop in Schwerin and Litomyšl. Just a year after becoming the bishop of Litomyšl, he was already one of Charles IV’s closest advisors. Albert passed away two years after his friend and benefactor.
